Is anxiety recovery without medication possible?

It’s a question that I get asked a lot as a Professional Coach and one I have an easy answer for………………………. Yes, it is absolutely possible – in fact I’d go so far as to say that it is the safest and most reliable way of recovering from anxiety and anxiety related conditions.

Before you stop taking your meds………..

Now before you suddenly stop taking your meds I have to emphasize that this must ONLY be done in conjunction with your doctor. Most anxiety based medication can have side affects and can be really hard to come off of unless you do it in a properly controlled and phased manner. This is ABSOLUTELY something you need to go through with your doctor!

Let me explain a little more………..

Studies show that over 80% of people do not feel like the medication they are on for anxiety, depression, stress or any other related condition will help them to recover – 80%!!!!

When asked why they take them their answers vary from “I think they help me to cope” to “because my doctor prescribed them” and yet so many people do not expect to recover while taking them!

“WHY?” I hear you shout – the truth is that most people who suffer with anxiety and have been to their doctor, a counsellor, therapist or psychotherapist have been told that they will suffer for the rest of their lives and will just have to “cope with it”

Research in to anxiety has come so far……………

Despite being told by their doctor, therapist etc that you just have to “cope with it” you should know that research in to anxiety has come so far in the last 5 to 10 years and that we now know that this IS NOT the case.

Science has now proven the link between mind, body and nervous system and it has proven it time and time again. Believing that anxiety and anxiety related conditions are “mental health issues” is massively outdated and yet the medical profession keep going along the same old path – sound familiar?
