What stops you in your tracks?

What stops you having what you want? What prevents you achieving anything and everything you want to in life? What stops you in your tracks?

If you answered those questions with a list of things you don’t have – time, money, knowledge or knowing the right people; it’s time to disappoint you! All of these resources are available if you want them – let me ask you another question. If someone you love was in a life or death situation that required one of those resources what would you do? That’s right – anything!!

So if it’s not resources or lack of resources that halts you in your desire to have your life on your terms, what is it? The answer comes down to one word – Fear.

“What you are afraid to do is a clear indication of the next thing you need to do” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The two core fears that hold you back are:

1) a fear of failure.
2) a fear of success (this is the least recognised and yet extremely prevalent)

However, just discussing the fear of failure or success is not getting to the core of what is holding you back. In fact, leaving the discussion at that point is like preparing the food for a meal and then not cooking it!

The fear of failure and fear of success are both derived from the two core fears that we all have, and it is dealing with those core fears that will allow you to succeed and have a life on your terms.

The two core fears that we all hold are the fear of not being good enough (failure) and the fear of not being worthy (success). Fearing one of those holds you back, fearing both is debilitating and until you break those fear down and breakthrough to the other side your dreams will remain just that, a dream.

Identifying the fear and removing the stories we tell ourselves about why we haven’t succeeded (lack of money, time etc.) is the first step. Taking conscious responsibility for where we are in our life means that we can make the decision to move past those fears, keep working through them and breakthrough to the other side where the life we want, life on your terms, awaits.

Getting support and help with that step of breaking through moves up the timescale. Finding a Coach who knows how to help you identify your limiting beliefs and then break them down, replacing them with positive, empowering beliefs accelerates the process.
